Help! TPI starting problem
Friend of mine has an 85 trans am with a 350 TPI and it has sat off and on for 2 years. We went to go start the car up yesterday and it will just crank and crank without kicking over. It has spark but when i checked the schraeder valve on the fuel rail for fuel pressure, nothing happened. I swapped the relay for a known working one with no luck. I tried to find a FP fuse on the fuse block but there wasn't one and i looked near the battery for a fuse with no luck. Is the pump bad or am i missing something here?
thanks

Do you hear the pump prime when the key is switched on? The fuse you are looking for is mounted to the fender in a little holder just to the rear of the battery about 8-10 inches, it is in a black holder. If that fuse is good and you don't hear the pump prime its time to start checking for voltage going to the relay, if there is voltage going to it, check for voltage coming out, if that is good check the wire run from relay to pump.

I had a similar problem, everything was there except the fuel pump wasn't priming, ended up being the fuse by the battery on the fender.
Another way to check if it's that fuse is by putting the key intot he on position and looking for the SES light, if it doesn't come on then it's the fuse, the fuse powers the fuel pump & ecm.

I couldn't find a fuse anywhere around the battery, all i found were some red wires and red/white stripe wires. I do not hear anything going on in the tank either.
