TBI to TPI
i plan on switching my L03 305 TBI to TPI i found a person locallly selling the stuff, has most of the stuff i will need. might need a new wiring harness. i do plan on getting a crate motor in about a year or year and a halfs time. but ill get to the point.
1) the crate motor will most likely have vortec heads. will this be a problem with bolting on the TPI stuff?
2) how hard will it be to convert fromTBI to TPI. i am quite mechanically enclined but when it comes to electrical i am a dumb A**. i was thinking of buying the painless wiring harness for the 90-92 TPI. would for the most part this be plug and play?
TIA

I am in the middle of that swap as we speak.
1. You need a Vortec base from Scoggin-Dicky.
2. Not hard persay, just a pain in the ***. There are ALOT of small things that are different. It can be easy if you dont do things like I did it. (Replace valve covers, and making the car just generally look nice and stock.)
The problem with the painless harness, is that it only has the stuff to make the car run. You will need to pull your entire old harness out, and transfer all the stuff thats not FI related.
