Are these numbers low??
243.5 HP at the wheels, 4500RPM
306.7 TQ at the wheels, 3800RPM
Heres everything that is done so far.
Block: 1997 four bolt roller block.
Piston: Stock L98
Crank: Stock L98
Cam: Stock L98
Heads: GM Vortec
Rockers: 1.6 roller
Intake: SCPD base, edelbrock runners
Plenum: Stock, ported
TB: 58mm Edelbrock
Injectors: Stock 22#
Headers: TES edelbrock
Exhaust: 3" with flowmaster muffler no converter
Ignition:Stock
Other things include custom cold air kit made by myself. Custom burned chip, by jimsperformance.com ( awsome chip, perfect fuel / air mixture )
I thought these were good, but the more i read up the more they seem low to me. Anybody have any suggestions.

Yup, get a good cam and a tune, and you should be putting down some killer numbers. Those are already good enough to take out some LT1's.

i picked up an LT4 hot cam, so that will be going in. I have to take the heads off and get the spring pockets machined. So i will be going with a thinner headgasket...should put it up to 9.5 to 1 from the now 9.3 to 1. I might look into doing some port work on the heads..Vortecs can be improved on the exhaust side very easily. I can still do pulleys and coolant bypass mod too.
I hope this will put me at 300hp at the wheels.

Its $50 for three baseline runs and another $15 for an air / fuel measurment. When i went before the guy pulled five runs with it and only charged me for the three...nice guy. Its in Greenville WI, its only about 15minutes from my house, so i got lucky on that.

im going to have to find a dyno around here, for one im sick of havin to cross the border to go drag race(canadian border) its about 30-40 min. away. but also the nearest dyno i think is in burlington VT which is about an hour away maybe. and i think its an Engine only dyno. but who knows, i can probably ask around and find one somewhere close, if i had the money id start my own drag strip. indoor! lol now that would be awsome, drag racing all year around!! WHOO HOOO!!! :lala: anyways good luck on your car!

Work the heads. Also, I know you probably have an in on an LT4 cam, but there could possibly be a better match - I would call up comp and see how much thier recommended cam differs from the LT4 specs to get an idea of how much closer you can get.
Are those edelbrock runners cleaned up and port matched? If not do that too! With a smooth transition LTR setup, some work on the Vortecs, and a matched cam you got more than 300RWHP. The torque should put you in the backseat if you get my drift

i called comp today and they recommend a very similar cam, little more lift though, and about twice as expensive. I'll stick with the LT4 hot cam. I did port the runners, but i think i could do some more work to them. I plan on concentrating on the exhaust side of the heads..on the intake they flow great. I should be able to pick up about 20hp just with a mild port job.

Well then there you go - I'm thinking you'll see borderline 300RWHP (give or take about 10RWHP)
I am surprised the LT4 cam matches Vortec heads... wierd.

Be cautious in your cam selection. The Hotcam has an excessive amount of exhaust duration for what a TPI system likes.
The TPI intake is a tuned system that delivers a real pop to the velocity of the intake charge. Hanging the exhaust valve open for too long can affect cylinder pressure adversely due to an overscavanging effect.
Rambling on, the Vortec head sports a week exhaust port, however it is easily able to be worked for greater flow potential.
A strong exhasut port and a big spread in duration may not be the direction you want to go. Best performance will come from a cam that is best suited to your airflow needs, no the cam that is on sale.
