timing

Hi guys well i just put in my full length headers, i got a 327 .030 over witk a mild cam, a holley stealth ram , and no aftermarket chip, well anyways as soon as i put in the headers the ecm is advancing the distributor all the way, what could be causing that. if i disconnect the brn. advance wire, the timing is good, but when i reconnect it it advances like crazy, ho yeah also when start the car in the morning its running good, and whenit heats up to normal temp is when it starts advancing like crazy, it brough my idle up to 1700 rpm(out of gear), from the 900 i had it set at (out of gear)

I think your timing is just going up because your idle goes up. Fix your idle problem.

but if i disconnect the advance wire for the distributor, the idle drops back down to normal.

When you disconnect the EST wire the engine is only running on initial timing. If you let it idle that way for a while I'll bet your exhaust will begin to glow red.

You've got to get a handle on your idle situation. when the idle comes down, so will the timing.
