help settle a dispute...

I'm not big on arguing with people, especially arguing with someone via internet. This just rubbed me the wrong way for some reason. Someone on another board seems to think 425 ft.lbs and 350 hp is about all I'll see out of my set up. His exact words are "I think if you are looking for high rpm horsepower your best bet would be to swap on a LT1 intake (I've seen it done before...). If you can get the kind of #'s your looking for from a TPI I want to know how you do it." The numbers he's refering to is 450+ ft.lbs, which is what I was guessing. Horsepower was never a goal of mine to begin with, I just wanted the "tractor pull" torque a TPI offers. Does anyone have flow numbers for a LT1 intake, I found flow numbers for a superram runner (289), but couldn't find anything for the SDPC vortec baseplate. If nothing else, does anyone else have a good estimate of the power I may see. Sorry for the post, I just want to shut this guy up! Thanks guys

First, I'd clarify is he or you are talking HP/TQ at the crank or rwhp and rwtq?

Also, I think with a SR and the good flow on your heads, and the cam you have, you should make well over 350 HP at the crank and if those heads are good, you should make about 350 rwhp. Take it to the track and see what it runs when you're done.

He's right in a way, the LT1 does have more HP potential, but the SR is good for over 400 HP and makes killer tq.

Show him my combo and what it runs. Your heads look to flow as well, and you'll have a bigger cam and more cubes than me and a better EFI system.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about power at the crank. the 425/350 are numbers he got from desktop dyno.

Then he doesn't know how to use DD 2K. I have a 350 at a little over 350 hp and well over 400 ft/lbs, using a LTR setup (SLP runners and Accel base) With TrickFlow heads.
A 383 with the same components would make well into 400 hp.
