SD to MAF?
Alright, I know just about everyone out there is interested in knowing what's involved with going from a maf system to map. But, I have a completely different problem. For the past year now, I've driven my speed density L98 and kept hoping that eventually I would get it right... I am at the point now where I think I am going to try using a mass air flow system to manage my engine. It seems like whenever I get it to run right at wot, it idles like it's going to die, and part throttle is screwed up. I've been going around in circles fixing different parts of the fuel curve to no avail. So, aside from giving me advice on how to fix my current fuel problems, can anyone out there tell me what's involved in converting from speed density to maf in a '90 camaro? Have any of you done it? I'm not set on swapping yet, but I am interested in knowing if it might be worth my while to try. Any help you can provide would be a big help from here.

Are you burning your own chips?. If not then you might consider learning how. There is no way to get either system really correct without doing that.
If you search the DIY-PROM board look for the MAF to MAP conversion info., and just do the reverse of what's mentioned. In a nutshell, you have to change some wiring, the ecm, and add the MAF sensor.

Dont do it!
Keep WOT where it is, if its right and learn howto use VEMaster and burn your own PROM. VEMaster will straighten out part throttle fuelling for you.

The idle code in the SD chips is much
better than the MAF code due to the
formers use of timing adjustments to
suplement the IAC and fuel adjustments.
I'd suggest starting with a virgin .bin
file for your SD system and begin tuning
the idle circuits and progress from there.

To actually answer your question. You'll need to get a MAF harness and swap it out. The S/D 's MAP connector doesn't have the right number of pins (wires) to repin to hook to a MAF sensor.
Easiest way would be a harness swap along with a 165 ECM.
