30# ford injectors, 60psi rail pressure.

I wanna ditch my FMU (which hits around 65psi). Think I'll have issues running 30# ford injectors, with a 60psi rail pressure? (prolly around 55 at idle).

Why 60psi? I wanna keep the DC's down as little as possible.

You'll have problems. The FMU is designed to add extra fuel only under boost conditions. In your proposed setup you'll be delivering excess fuel ALL the time, making it run so rich you'll probably have raw gas running out your tailpipes.

Joe,

Just run a set of 36# SVOs with a rail pressure of 43psi. Tune your chip accordingly and you should be aok. Don't run 60spi all the time. It places an extraordinary amount of extra stress on the fuel pump. Just run bigger injectors with less pressure.

I still think that you'd be better off with the SyTy $58 once you get used to it. I like the $8D much better but ... well ... boost is boost.

I bought some 30# ford Red Top injectors, because I couldn't find anything larger at the time.

I just bid and won some Ford Black tops: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ory=33554&rd=1 on ebay. I'm having him send me the #'s to verify before he gets paid, but I guess they'll work.

Now unfortunately I allready won some 30#'s that I don't know what to do with. Hopefully someone else will want them.

43 psi huh? I thought a slightly higher FP than stock would cause a better spray pattern?

I got a $58bin almost done. I need to drive around in $8D for a bit and log some data before I finish my $58 bin, because I made soo many changes to the car (exhaust, rockers + valve adjust, weight changes, etc) since the last time I scanned my VE data is useless I'd think. Once I get a good set of VE tables in $8D, i'll import them into $58 and then mess with the BPW correction to get the injector constant right.

Do you agree with this method?

Craig sent me source to ecm_853, and I'm gonna work at it to get it to scan $58 stuff - but for now freescan is the only thing I have available, and I'm not confident in its ability. So I figure if I get VE squared away with the new injectors under $8d, I can import that into $58.

Thanks as always!

It will, but "slightly" higher isn't a realitive term here, they mean like 46-48 PSI...60 PSI is almost 50% higher Also don't forget the SVO's flow #'s were at 38 PSI...so in reality 60 is more than 50% higher than their flowed pressure.

Cool. I was thinking like 45-50 but I'll do whatever.

I bought those 36# injectors in the link above. I hope they are really 36#.. He said the numbers on them are "9F593"

Check here: http://www.turboford.org/faq/injectors.shtml

It seems 9F593 isn't all the P/N, the - number seems to be dictating the size of the injector. 9F593's range from 14# to 64#.
