Good source for engine rebuild parts/kits?

I'm about to pull the engine from my notchback to give it a much needed rebuild, and I'm looking for options on where to get the parts I need.

I want to do a stock rebuild, basically all the bearings seals and gaskets, a set of 1st over pistons and rings. Is there any place that sells all this stuff as a package deal? I'll probably need one undersized rod bearing and a connecting rod, but that stuff can be bought seperately. I'll worry about the heads when I get the block back together, I'm in no hurry.

Background on the motor: Bought the car with 137k on the odo and it had a very faint bottom end thump on cold startup after sitting for a few days. I proceeded to drive it for 10k then the rear main seal started dripping and eventually let loose, I had it towed home and haven't touched it since.

Summit sells federal mogul rebuild kits that have all that you need in a decent rebuild. Just look for the pistons you need, and you should be able to find the right kit, they are part numbered by overbore and crank undercut and type of piston. The kit contains pistons, bearings, rings, oil pump, fel-pro gaskets, etc, pretty much everything. www.summitracing.com

I figured summit would probably be a good pick, I got a lot of stuff from them for my vw, just trying to explore all the options you know. I guess I'll really find out what I need once I get that motor out and apart.

Thanks for the reply

check out www.northernautoparts.com also. They tend to have good deals on engine kits.
