I am wanting to get a fuel pressure gauge of some sort. I had a look on the jegs site at a hypertech one. Link below

This is just a hand held unit to check fuel pressure etc..

Would I be better off buying one that I can mount inside the car and use that also to check pressure as I would with the hypertech one but have the advantage that I could see the pressure while driving?

Any recommendations on any gauges that are good and are able to mount inside the car. Or really do I just need the hypertech unit to set and be done with it. Cause if the in car gauges cost a lot more then I don't think I would worry about it or are they worth it?

Any advice would be good.

in car gauges are about $200.
I've got an Autometer Ultra Lite one, sells for $191 or so at jegs.
There are 3 parts to it, the guage, the controller, and the sender that attaches to the rail.

No real need to have an in-car one if you aren't running boost or Nitrous.

You don't want to mount a FP gauge in the car if it is a direct hook up meaning the fuel runs from the rail all the way to the gauge bacause of the fire hazard if it leaks inside the car. If you read most of the FP gauge desc they state that an in car gauge is not avail.

Long ago, and far away, on this site, someone did an electric, in car, fuel pressure gauge using an oil pressure sending unit, and a gauge....... Sending unit went on the schrader valve on the fuel rail, and was simply wired to the gauge. Looked like a pretty good plan to me. (although, finding an electric gauge that says "fuel pressure" might be difficult.......

Okay no worries looks like all I will need is the hand held unit and be done with it. I am not running boost or nitrous.

personally I like the fuel rail mounted gauges. install it once, no excess fuel leeking out when checking pressure, and quick and easy to make on the fly FP changes.

I have a handheld unit as well, but the permanent one is more convenient
