Did SLP make 2 different runners?
I have 2 sets and they are different. On the top one the tubes to the left dont have any wall seperating them, and the bottom one does. Both sets are stock and unported.Did they change the design at some point?

The top one looks like it was ported, and the left set of runners looks like it was siamesed all the way through.

The top ones are an earlier design....I guess there was something they didn't like with that design and changed to the current design...the bottom one
Are you selling any set?

Right. The early set had one side siameesed and the other not at the top. The later ones have both inlets siameesed. Allen

Bill I know those are aftermarket runners but are they basicly stock with that part welded on and then siamesed? Also are the bottoms of the runners the stock diameter too? Any more info would be great also.

From what I know, the stock runners have an diameter of 1.48", I don't know if that is measured as inner, or outer diameter.
The AS&M siamesed runners I have are made of thin wall extruded aluminum with a 1.66" inner diameter. They list 1.75" diameter on the website, but I'm told thats the outer diameter. I don't have a micrometer to measure it. A search of the forum says that stock runners flow 200cfm.
One major draw back for the AS&M runners is that they cannot be ported. Or so I've been told. The runner walls are thin enough that I beleive him.
On the ThunderRacing site I found this...
I'm told that the increase in torque and HP is only with port matching, and siamesing of the plenum. Though, to get the most out of the runners I'd guess at needing a aftermarket base.

AS&M Large Tube Runners
Have proven to increase torque by 30 ft/lb. and horsepower by 25 on stock 5.7L engine
Flows 260 CFM per runner
AS&M Large Tube Siamesed Runners
Increase torque and horsepower more than the large tube runners.
Increased CFM per runner [over Large Tube Runners]

Who makes the best and/ or biggest diameter intake base, and how much are they?

Well, the best TPI system I've read about so far is the First TPI system. Absolutely HUGE, and they just made a prototype for vortech heads
But supposedly they can make over 400hp n/a easily enough with room to port.
Down side, its $1,000 for the manifold and fuel rails. All TPI electronics will swap right over. However, you cannot mix'n'match runners and manifolds with other brands...
Next would be the AS&M, TPIS, and Accel runners. Largest inner diameter of 1.66". Available in siamesed or not.
Large Tube Runners - $375
Large Tube Runners Siamesed $475.
SLP Siamesed runners. Not as good as the AS&M runners, but much better than stock. $200.
Stock, nuff said.
As far as the edelbrock stuff, I haven't read up on it alot, so I won't tell ya about it.

FruityOne, who modified those runners, looks nice, how much did they seem to help you out, I'm going stealth ram on my 89 formula 350, but sticking with tpi for right now on my 87 iroc unless I find a good deal on some better tpi parts, but fabbing up my own modified stock versions or similar is an option I am willing to go through with.
There seems to be alot of guys here from illinois and close to me. I'm in Homer Glen, which is basically Lockport, if you guys ever wanna hook up and meet up at the track or join my local car club email me at cronsformula@juno.com or on aim, my sn is Formula3Fity .
Feel free to check out my site also, I have some cool stuff on it, not to mention my f bodies:

Hey All,
I have a set of these runners for an earlier tpi with the 9th injector provision and want to install them on a later SD model. Does anyone know specifically where i can purchase a block off for this hole or can i just simply seal it off? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Yeah you can use the JB weld to block off the whole, thats what I'm doing to my 87 IROC-z's drivers side runner, I'm converting it to a non cold start injector, I hate that cold start injector, its so gay, and in the way. I may use it later on though, with some other custom fabbed up parts and make my own flame thrower setup, thats later on though.

yeah, that jb weld stuff is really strong, and works great when you use it the way it was meant to be. They have more stuff on there website, for other uses, for ex. marine use. I can't remember the site for them, but if you search I'm sure you could find it.
