if you have a 383 please list what cam, heads, and also if you retained the factory tpi setup with porting or what, and your results. thanks

I'm running a LT1 intake, stock ported L98 cast iron heads w/ stock valves, LT4 Hotcam, and edelbrock headers. Just have to get some track times.

I'm running Dart Sportsman II iron heads at 10.5:1 and a custom Comp Cam with .495/.502 lift, 218/224 duration @.050, and a 112 LSA and a Lingenfelter/Accel Super Ram with a custom chip.

Or I should say I will be --- right now it's all on an engine stand in my garage waiting for a buddy to be available to help me install it.

I think he means to keep the stock TPI setup. If that is the case you must do all the porting possible. Port match every transition (throttle body to plenum, plenum to runners, runners to base, base to heads), port out the plenum and port the base but do not siamese it.

Pick a cam that provides idle to 5,000rpm because you won't be breathing past that

There is a risk of starving cylinders. Some ppl get away with it, but the scary thing is you won't know it is happening and your engine dies within months. I would not do it. FWIW, you can pick up an aftermarket base on ebay for a good price and port the hell out of it and it will flow more than a fully siamesed stock base.

Yeah tho, thats the major point - you could hurt your engine
