89 TPI intake and heads on 76 block

I've had a few guys tell me that that set-up will work. I still am concerned about the water ports matching up. Will they match up perfectly? or are they somewhat different?

Also I'm not exactly sure my engine is an L98. It orginally came with the 305(my car). I'm pretty sure it is. It has about the same power output.

I'm just worried about the water ports matching up. I wish I could do a better engine set-up. But I don't really see why this won't work out.

Yes they will work on a 76 block. An L98 is a 350 not a 305.

Yeah i know an L98 is a 350. I just didn't specify exactly. The 350 was swapped in place of the orginal 305.

So are the water ports like exactly alike??? like shape and everything?

Does anyone have a pic of a L98 head? showing the water ports and valves?

they are the same they used the same head gaskets for the 350s from 55 clear up till about the vortec engines and I think they might have used the same head gaskets for those but dont quote me on it. Easiest way to find out is call your local parts store and see which gasket they used for the 76 and 89 and Ill pretty much guarantee that they are the same, based off my 4+ years of parts store experience.
