Hey all,
I stripped the entire drivetrain out of my '85 SS and will be swapping it into an engine-less '88 SS that I picked up a while ago.

While the motor is out, would it be worth it for me to buy some SLP runners, or siamese the stockers? The motor is an '87 roller block, with a Crane 2031 Compucam (.432/.459 lift), 1.5" aluminum roller rockers, and World Products S/R Torquer 305 heads with the 1.94/1.50 valves.

Any opinions are appreciated!

If it were me, I wouldnt siamese the stockers or go with the SLP for a 305. I think you'll lose more torque at your lower end. I would go with the Arizona Speed & Marine big tube runners. They aren't siamesed, just bigger in diameter. I think those would be better suited to the 305's torque curve and should work well with the cam/heads. Good luck.....

Would it be better to lose some power down low, since I have a stick anyway? My car doesn't hook really well to begin with (it's set up for corner burnering, with Eibach drop springs, Bilsteins, and 17" wheels) , so maybe I could trade-off a few ft/lbs. for some more power upstairs.

The last time I took the car to the track, I was pulling miserable 2.6x 60' times, spinning the tires hard. I managed to knock down a 15.0 @ 93mph even with that rotten 60' time.
