TPI price ?, 305-350 TPI systems same or different?

I have a chance to buy a complete TPI system from a local guy I know who just wants to get rid of it. He only wants $500, says he is the original owner and it has only 20,000 miles on it. Is this a good price, I thought it was a steal. Don't know much about TPI cause I have CFI right now, want to convert to TPI. I have a new GM Crate 350 already installed and the CFI is choking it to death. The TPI system is from an 86 camaro with the LB9 option with 2.73 gears and auto tranny. My other question is since the system was installed with a 305 originally is it going to work with my 350? I thought all TPI systems were the same regardless of engine size. Is this true, where the original 305 and 350 TPI's the same or not? Don't want this system to choke the engine like the CFI, plus I can't afford to mod it to work with the 350 right now if it's going to need mods at all. Thanks for any info or input. :hail: :hail: :hail:

tpi is basically the same on 305 / 350's.

the biggest differences are the injectors 19 / 22's stock. plus the knock sensor and computer is different.

500 seems alittle high to me, i would try ebay or somewhere else i see complete 90 - 92 map tpi setups going for 400 sometimes. sometimes with or without the harness.

i think u could do better.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate the advice. I think I am going to pass on the deal for now after what you said. I can't afford to replace the injectors right now, or the knock sensor or computer. $400 sounds like a better deal on ebay. Maybe I can find one that was originally on a 350 so I won't have to replace stuff to make it work. Thanks again. :hail:

i mean with some tuning on the chip u could get it running with a with the 305 tpi stuff.

but i think money wise verses running good verses time it would be better to just get a 350 tpi setup either maf or map (speed density 90 - 92 years).

I agree. After looking into it more and thinking more about it I would rather wait and find a original 350 setup. Now I can save my money and get what I really need and want. Thanks.
