Cold start injector? vaccum leak!
hey guys, I think I have a big vaccum leak on my cold start injector....how can I seal it up? There is a big time HISSSIN noise coming from that area...I can take a cig and the smoke goes like to that area....at first I thought it may be where the PVC tube goes into the intake but that seems to be sealed tight....
so if I was to take the bolt out that holds the CSI how can I seal it?..not the hole but seal it with the CSI there also...

The best thing to do is to remove the CSI and cap the fuel rail. Then either get a set of newer 89-92 runners or you can epoxy the old-school runner's CSI hole. Then use an updated ARAP.bin PROM chip (for an 89 TPI 350) and presto, no more CSI crap to deal with.
There is a tech article on doing the above.
That's what I would do. PM me if you need help with the custom chip.

Take the CSI out and make sure you didn't bend the mounting flange on it. If you did, straighten it out, make sure the O ring is on it and put it back in place, making sure it is firmly seated in the runner BEFORE you put the bolt back in.

Where can I get a cap to put inplace of the CSI? anyone know what size it is? or what its called? If I remove the CSI will it be really that hard to crank it up in the mornings? or does it have to be super cold to really need it?

I had the same problem before. Just take your old O-ring off and find a new one at the hardware store. It'll only run you about a dollar and you won't have to worry about capping off the cold start valve hole or removing the valve assembly.
Sounds easier to me.
