hey well i got a 327 bored .030 over so its a 331.6, well it has a comps cam 268/280 duration, .477/.480 lift, with a stealth ram and stock l98 cast iron heads, 9.15:1 compression, 3.27 gears and a 4 speed automatic, no computer work or anything else, well today i took it to the track and it ran a 14.41, any one have any idea y its not faster? would a chip make it much faster? whast else could i do to make it run better? should i bump up compression or something? some one help me please! give me ideas or tell me y it isnt fasterm i thought it would alot faster but it isnt. oh yeah and i didnt spin any tires at all.

I'd look at the computer programming and the heads. The heads really don' flow that well and the prom is programmed for a sock TPI or a 350 or possibly 305. The 327 is a high winding engine good at making power in the top end of the RPM band. TPI is not. So, I'd look into modifying the prom and getting new heads or atleast porting and polishing the stock L98s.

thnx, now i cant afford after market heads, but i could get my hands on some stock heads, now what would be better, old like 60's 70's stock heads, like the camel hump 186 or some like l98 corvette aluminum heads? and also i have no idea on what to do about programming my own prom, i have the programmer, but i have no idea on what things i should change or even how to change them, i need help with the prom, can someone help me?
