strange fuel pressure/pump problem

I'm having fuel trouble with an 85 tpi engine. I now have my second aftermarket inline fuel pump(thought the first went bad). The engine won't go over 2500-3000 rpm's. The fuel pressure is normal at idle, but will go down to 20-30psi when trying to accelerate. Fuel is flowing freely to, and from the fuel pump and filter. The fuel pump makes quite a bit of noise, and runs often.(Same thing was happening to the other fuel pump.)

What I have tried:
-New fuel pump
-new fuel pump relay
-checked over/fixed some fuel pump wiring
-new adjustable fuel pressure regulator>This was put on several months before the problem started.

If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

I am having the same problem with my 91 tpi. Have you gotten anywhere with it? Mine does not have a problem until about 4g. I see that nobody has responded. Not a good sign.
