mini ram w/ emissions

I built a 302 guys. Sorry but this thing really runs and with tuned port and 11 to 1 compression it has very good low speed manners. I however don't care all that much about low speed manners and would like to find a miniram style intake that is emission legal. I figure that should put me well in the 400 horse range. The car is a 6 speed w/ 3.42 12bolt rear so it cruises at 2400 on the hyway and giving up a little bottom end won't really hurt. On the other hand with the stock tune port it starts to lay over at 6500. If anyone knows of a emission legal miniram style intake I would apreciate it.

I have never seen a stock TPI intake pull to 6500 rpm, more like 4500 max.

For your question, there's isn't a miniram style intake that is emissions legal. They don't have provisions for an EGR.

Your 302 heads probably don't even have EGR ports anyway. Your only choice would be to do a LT1 intake conversion and plumb external exhaust to the intake and make an adaptor for the EGR valve since the distributor prevents it from being installed in the stock location.

With 11-1 compression and 6.250 rods, my 302 is much more efficient and doesn't need as much air to make the same power. Also the high rod ratio breathes the intakes more smoothly, the pulse timing is spead out more and not as peaky on the intake pulse so the tubes don't hit moment restriction until a higher total air flow for each intake event. These things allow the long tubes to breath to a higher rpm. I have TFS195 heads and they do have EGR port. I will brobably end up using a superram anyway. My research has shown this may be the better way to go. The super ram on this combination should be able to run to 7000 rpm with very little restriction.
