Hard to Start .... sometimes

Ok, after having changed the fuel filter, coolant temp. sensor, engine temp sensor, fuel pump relay, cleaning the battery terminals, changing the terminal bolts, and checking the alternator.....my problem is this.

My engine is hard to start at times....acts like there is no fuel coming into the cylinders. This isn't constant though. When the engine has sat for a day or so, it starts on one or two rolls. When the engine has been running, and I restart it within 3 to 5 minutes, it starts easily. The problem is the rest of the times. I will roll the engine 5 or 6 times, sounds like it wants to run, but doesn't. Stop...Crank more....4, 5, 6 more rolls and it sputters up from a sick rough run to it's sweet normal song. It never runs badly once it's running...

Ideas? Questions? Comments? Suggestions? .... yes, I need them all.

my car used to do that too. i added a holley AFPR with fuel pressure bumped to 47 psi and it got easier to start. plus i picked up 2 tenths and 2 mph with it. i got mine through a local auto parts store for 85 bucks, plus you need a fuel pressure gauge, and a TPI gasket kit which cost me about 20 bucks. so far ive been real pleased with it.
