would 1.6 rockers help my new Edelbrock heads
the rockers i am contemplating are, comp cams magnum roller tipped guided rockers. i am installing an edelbrock base to replace my ported stocker. also replacing my S/R torquers with my new and just ported Edelbrock 6085 heads. would 1.6 rockers help the combo? the extra .030 lift help? how would it effect emmisions? and will it effect longevity? valve guide wear? springs?
or......... just install 1.5 comp rockers? or use the $$$ for a new 52mm throttle body. if it will help. the details are in the sig.
daily emmisions legal driver.

Go for the 1.6's. The extra lift would be nice. Still got the S/R's? Looking to get rid of them?

1.6 rockers
I have the same edelbrock heads that you have on my 383 stroker in my gta but mine are made by Crane and they are designed to clear the factory valve covers I read and article in gm high tech where 1.6's gave a motor similiar to our build ups 18 to 22 horse power between 3000 and 6500 rpms. they do help the motor breathe a little better also, being that they alow your exhaust to stay open a little longer along with the intake as well.they do make your valve train a little louder and they are pricey. if you race they are worth it. mine were a little over 300 bucks. Do make sure that you get hardened push rods with them because your guide plates will eat them up if they are not hardened. one of the best things that you can do to your heads if you havnt put them on yet is unshroud the valves.. they really flow good then..
good luck

Well in all honesty, since you havent bought anything yet, I would go ahead and get a set of 1.7 ratio rockers and push lift to the max.
As far as the TB goes, I just drove my SR 385 to 12.5@113.5 and she is putting 325RWHP and 440RWTQ to the tires all on the stock 48mm TB. My motor sports the Edelbrock E-Tec 170 heads.
I have an offer from a local member to get some hard data to see what a 52mm or 58mm TB will net me over my current 48mm, he would let me use them to dyno or test track MPH with. However I wont have time to do any of the swapping for a few weeks at least.
So hold off on the TB IMO.
