GOOD question
Yeah the L98 isnt a popular engine because it has 2 bolt mains but what have yal got out of the L98 (with stock intake) before putting a 383 or another 350 in? Im planning on putting in AFR heads and a 450 lift cam as of now im running a 14.1.

Theres nothing wrong with a 2 bolt main, some will argue that a 4 bolt (straight) is better, but from what I've seen they both are about equal in capability in power handling. If your worried, take yout 2 bolt block, get a set of splayed caps and it will be better than a normal 4 bolt. BW

I agree, if you want to build the strongest motor you can, get a two bolt and have it drilled for the 4 bolt splayed main caps. If you already have the two bolt main block and REALLY want a 4 bolt, just do that.

The stock TPI set-up will be your biggest restriction. It hates high end power. Upgrading to an LT1 intake or a stealth ram does amazing things to that motor.
