Got the car running almost perfect.....ran it into a tree

Well I got the motor running almost perfect after putting in the LS1 28 lb/hr injectors and new Proform distributor. I played around a bit more with the prom and the motor was running beautiful. Much better than before with the SVO 30 lb/hr injectors and junk remanufactured distributor. The car was really beginning to come together. This motor was easily capable of 400+ hp with perfect tuning. The LT4 intake manifold coupled with the Fast Burn heads let it pull strongly all the way to 6500 rpm. On top of this, I also installed the ZO6 brakes a couple weeks before. The car was really beginning to come together.

I only had the car running for about 3 days and decided to be an idiot and show off. Well it all ended up with me running the car into a tree. The car itself is totalled and I didn't have any collision coverage. So basically I'm screwed. Luckily me and my friend came out of the accident with only minor aches and pains. It didn't hit me how lucky we really were until the next day when it finally sunk in. I guess I have to part everything out as much as I hate to part with this car. I've put sooo much time, effort, and money into this car so I am incredibly dissapointed at the whole situation.

If anyone has any ideas as far as what to do with the car, I'm all ears. I really hate to get rid of this motor after the time and money I've spent on it. I believe it was one of a kind because I've never seen anyone use an LT4 intake. I posted a classified on this site just to put some feelers out there and have already recieved a huge response.

Thanks for letting me get this out of my system. I guess this ins't the most tech related post so if it gets locked...so be it.

Steve

By all means keep the motor and put it in another 3rdgen . Also keep the 6 speed . Heck i would just swap everything over to another rolling chassis , that way you will only be out the price of the rolling chassis. Thats what I would do , I wouldn't give up , you got some expensive parts on that car .

Just my .0000000000000000002 cents ...

I am sure you can find a rolling chassis for pretty cheap. Just swap EVERYTHING over to that.

not only would i be looking for another car... i would be looking for a base model.

like a RS.. this way your coverage wont be as high as a Z28 or TA, and you just swap in your motor and trans and keep going.

the prices are generally lower, and its usually easer to find a babied, non abused base model then a Z...
