i have a 82 camaro (carb) and i am wanting to see if the tpi system (upper and lower intake) from my brothers 88 iroc will bolt up, ive asked around and some say yes with some changes and others say no the heads have a different bolt pattern. If there is anyone who has done or tried this i would really appreciate some advice.

 

They're both right. The bolt pattern on the '88 is different, the center 2 bolts on each head is 72deg instead of 90deg like the rest. With modification, the '88 intake can be made to fit the '82 heads.

That's the easy part of the swap...after that, you have to upgrade your fuel pump, change the wiring harness and ECM, knock sensor...the list goes on.
