Hi Guys,
Just wanted to let everyone know that during my injector swap I noticed that the manifold bolts were all LOOSE!! I torqued them down to 25ftb first and then to 45ftb after and they had a long way to go....

3 of my intake runner bolts at the base were VERY loose as well!

I've heard this is from normal shrinkage of the gaskets and such. I've always had a small amount of coolant on one side and oil on the other coming through...nothing crazy but I hope this solves that.

 

intakes are always loose on our cars:-) thin metal plus the expansion differential of cast iron to alum doesnt help either :-)


Retorqueing them helps but within the next 10-20k u will be pulling the intake and resealing it to stop the leaks :-)

It is a TPI thing unfortuneately, other models /setups have similiar issues with dissimiliar metals being the biggest problem
