High flo intake and missing plate
I searched all over the board for the answer. Any ways, last summer I put an edelbrock high flow lower intake on my car and I didn't put the plate from the underside of my stock intake on the Hi flow.
What is the purpose of this plate and could it cause any problems? Thank you.

I did the exact same thing as you. I installed my edelbrock high-flo intake and Super Ram before I realized my mistake. I Decided not to remove everything to fix my F**kup. I havent had any problems at all. The cars running great. When I rebuild my motor I'll install it then.
I'm almost positive that the part your talking about is a splash shield to keep the hot oil off the bottom of the intake base. I'm assuming this would help keep the air flowing throw the intake cool to help performance. Anyway I have seen no ill effects and I'm sure you'll be fine too. Just keep the part around and install it next time you have the fuel injection off............. Eric

thats the one, someone told me it was to keep the oil off. The frustrating thing is that i didn't get ANY gains from the intake and SLP runners. Could it be bacause the intake is heating up the cool air coming in?

I doubt that is the reason for your lack of gains from your mods. The egr passage also runs through your intake and is a LOT hotter than the oil that may be splashed up onto the bottom of you intake.
