I have a 1986 Trans Am with 24 Lbs injectors and a 3.73 9-bolt rear end. The cam that GM put in there 1986 305's suck, and i wanted to get one with bigger lift. I also wanted the motor to cam to a point where you could tell for sure that i had a cam. If the cam is too big will I need a new chip, or computer, and how big is to big. So my question is what cam would fit my needs? All so get me out of the hole faster

What other mods have been done to the car? If this is an auto does it have the stock converter? You may want to call CompCams and they can give you a good recommendation based on you mods.

yea is an auto with a 2400 stall, rebuilt trans with shift kit. SLP runners ported to match the runners, I'll call CompCams to see waht they say thanks

IIRC that is a flat-tappet motor so the 218/228 114 LSA would be good.
