Which coil/wires to get? Are these the correct part numbers?

I'd like to get a new coil and wires for my 1989 350TPI GTA.

Is this the coil to get? MSD Blaster GM Coil
http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...&part=msd31839

Do I need to get this MSD-8876 - MSD to GM Dual Connector Coil, late model harness?

It says on Summit they are for:- 1988-92 305 (5.0L) Camaro, 1988-90 305 (5.0L) .... with remote mount HEI, custom fit, 8.5 mm, helical wound core, silicone jacket, Super Conductor wire set. But does not mention the 350ci cars.

Many thanks for all the help!

The wires will work just fine. Makes no difference if it's 305 or 350.

Thanks Rob. It seems that the links etc in my post got a bit missed up when I had edited it. I'll sort them later on.

Which coil do you think I should get? Do you have a Summit part number for it?

Many thanks!

That's the correct replacement coil from MSD. But I doubt you'd need the harness unless yours is fried.

As for wires, those are also correct. But that part number's for red wires. Is that what you want? You can also get the same set in black, if that's more preferable to you. That's part number 31833.

Good choices.

I have been using both for years now- no problems. The MSD wires even come with neat little numbered plastic clip-ons for the wires to mark the firing order.

The 8876 harness is to be used in conjunction with the MSD A series of ignition amplifiers. The harness plugs into the 6A box and your stock or replacement coil eliminating the need for splicing..........

Later,

Chris

Old topic but what the hell..
I bought MSD-31839 and they are to short!
Theres no way to have them not touching the stock exhaust manifolds.. I wrapped them with some heat shield but hey - If I buy a plug wires it would be nice to have them a bit longer so I wouldnt have to strech them :-P

I'd just go for the kit that you cut them to length an make them up youself. That is the best way to avoid them being too short or long.
