Stock PROM for 305 TPI, auto & 3.73's?

I tried a search on this in the PROM listings but the best I could find was for 3.27 rear gears. Will it need a custom burned one?
It's an '88 TPI setup.
Thanks,
Larry.

Larry, I used a very similar chip in my car for a few years until I converted to stick. The only thing that is really affected is when it goes into lockup, and that is controlled by MPH, not gear ratio. Don't worry about a custom chip.

The PCM does not calibrate the speedo on the 700r4s, but maybe the 200r4s are different???

The 200-4R works very much like the 700-R4. Even the connector for the lockup is the same on both trannies, and are wired the same way. When I had the 200-4R in my '85 SS (running an '87 TPI motor and harness) lockup and all worked just fine, and the speedo read correctly because nothing was changed in the driveline (I kept the stock tranny and stock 3.73s).

Steve,
Thanks. The main thing I was concerned with was any "less" performance with a chip that was for a different rear gear ratio. How was the performance when you had the 2004R?
I know you like the T5 better, but I've decided to wait awhile on doing one. The TPI setup I found (if I get it ) is from an '88 Corvette that had no more than 3.08 gears.
Larry.
