Cone filter a + or - ???

I just took the stock Airfilter setup out of my 92 Z-28 camaro and put a K+N Cone on the front of the TPI setup. Will this increase or decrease performance? It seems like its probably sucking hot air but than again I have a 3 inch Cowl. Will this help or be worse for my car?

decrease.

the cowl will help air flow out of the engine bay, but the motor is still sucking the hot air from behind the radiator.

now if you somehow ducted off the cowl so that all the air going to the TB is from the cowl, that MIGHT help.... but really, the stock air intake is a pretty efficent design. its hard to beat.

Go back to the stock setup. The dual snorkel design is a damn good intake - all you need to do is cut off the bottoms of the air boxes underneath the filter seats and move on to exhaust mods.
