Roller rockers on a comp cam
I tried searching this and couldn't quite get the right answer.
I have a '91 gta w/305tpi. I have added a comp cam(.48 intake, .487 exhaust, 206-212 with .110 LS). Could I put on 1.6 roller rocker arms? Will it help? Will it be noticable? Or am I just wasting $350cdn?? I already have 3:42 gears, ported plenum, afpr, 8.8 wires, no cats and headers. Is there something else I could spend my $ on???

By installing 1.6 rockers, you will increase the valve lift to roughly .512" and add a couple of degrees to the duration...I say go for it, especially if you are still using the stock stamped steel rockers.
I have the GM ones and like them very much.

You say that you have the gm ones, they make 1.6 roller rocker arms? Are they cheaper than an aftermarket? Could you tell me the diff in hp or 1/4 mile times??

Here's the link to the GMPP Roller Rockers. These are the ones that come with the LT4 HOT cam kit.

I had SDPC install them on the ZZ4 when I bought it, so I don't have comparison numbers...They were just under $350 for the set...try www.gmpartsdirect.com for the best possible price on them.

Kinda expensive for me in Canada, but did you see a diff? Anything documented in a track time improvement? For $350, I might as well wait for a while longer and get NOS for $900!!

Are you running stock heads? If so you are right at the limit now if not over with the rockers/cam you have. You might bind the springs with the 1.6 rockers. If you have after market heads set up for a higher lift disregard this message. Allen

Dyno or track times with roller rockers
I have stock heads. So maybe the 1.6 roller rockers are not for me now!
Just out of curiosity, does anyone have dyno or track times for the difference with roller rockers???

If the rockers are too much $$ for the ~10HP gain, then try saving for new heads - or better yet, put the cats back on the car and notice the instant low end torque you just picked up.

If I put the cats back on I would gain the low end but lose the top end, wouldn't i? Or was that a joke?
