i got a 305 tpi out of a 86 iroc and im in the process of putting it in my 89 formula. i can only work on it on the weekends so it slowly comming together. what do u guy think it will run around. mods are as follows. headers, 3 inch flowmaster exhaust and cat co cat, a crane compucam "mild cam", adjustable fuel pressure regulator and air foil and k&n filter. accel supper coil. and tripple platnim plugs. and a posi rear. what do u guys think the anticipation is killing me. my guess is mid to low 14s. my firebird ran a 16.18 at 87 mph with a 305 tbi and a new cat and exhaust system. and with 230,000 miles on it. one of the reasons for the new motor. oh yah the 305 tpi only has 74,000 on it. sweet.

 

Yes - mid to low 14's sounds right. To bad it is a 305... a 350 TPI mildly cammed with exhaust would dip right into the damn 13's.

 

and a 400 would be faster than that, and a 454 would be faster than that

 

yah but some people dont want big inch motors... i am about to do the same swap with mine...hopefully when im done..i will be running 12's. i know it can be done. just a matter of time. dont ask me why cuz i know there is no replacement for displacement but just some odd reason even I cant figure out. im gettin a '90 engine though so the maf is gone
