MAF voltage

So my car has been giving me code 34 for awhile now, and I finally got around to testing it. I ran a wire backprobing the dark green wire on my MAF, to my DVOM in my car, so I could watch it while I drive. At 900rpm idle, output was .1v, and at WOT 4600rpm output was 3.8v. This satisfies the premise of the code (MAF voltage low), since its suppose to be .45-4.5v, but is this far enough off to cause my car to get 11mpg and have a hard time idling? Especially on a warm startup.
