which intake bolts should i use?

which intake bolts should i use?

hey, swappin my tpi intake...which bolts should i use/what size are they? I guess id like to use some nice ARP bolts...which ones are for tpi...or are they the same for whatever intake?

the stock torx bolts should be fine but if you dont have those any intake bolt should work fine, stock or aftermarket. when you put them in be sure to put sealer on them like you do on cylinder heads. the reason for this is to keep the intake bolts from loosening. when the bolts get loose oil travels up the threads and oil will pool on the outside of the intake base. this will also cause the intake manifold gaskets to detiorate and you could develop a coolant leak in time. i know because the oil puddle is a common TPI thing, and when i rebuilt my 305 all that i listed above had happened to my engine.

I got that pretty stainless top end kit from TPiS . My motor guy doesn't like the stainless hardware ..... just called it annoying

I found some corvette guy on ebay that was selling hex head kits for the TPI. Another easy way to this is take the bolts for you intake to ACE/Home Depot etc and match hex headbolts to what you have, just don't get them mixed up if you don't know which ones came from where.
