HELP, gas running out of the throttlebody.

I just put the L98 in a 1991 corvette back together after putting new rings and gaskets in it. Now I just tried to fire it up and it backfired and a lot of gas began running out of the throttlebody. What could be causing this? If anybody can give me some quick help I would appreciate it.

Someone else had this problem a little while ago and I believe it was the fuel pressure regulator.

Well the firing order is fine, how do I check to see if the fuel pressure regulator is bad? Also if it is bad, I have a spare TPI from a 305, could I use the Fuel pressure regulator off of it? Thanks.

Pull the vacuum hose off the pressure regulator, gas will come out of the nipple if the diaphram is torn.
The regulator off your 305 should be the same.

Well, it turns out the fuel pressure regulator was shot after all. It also turns out that I'm gonna need new injectors because they were clogged too. Hopefully when I get the injectors put in it will fire right up.
