Superram is the more streetable intake?

Hi, I am a proud owner of a 91 camaro z28 and now its time for me to get serious...

I already bought all the needed parts:

224-230 compcams
1.5 gold crane roller rockers
accel afpr
30 Lbs SVO
SLP dual cold air induction
3:73 SLP with heavy duty Zexel torsen
BBK 58 mm throttle body
SLP 2400-2800 torque converter
And the list goes on and on...

Now I need the proper intake to be streetable and effective on the track.

Was running 13.7 with SLP runners, ported intake, 3:73, ZZ3 camshaft without chip.

Thanks, Pat

The SR has taken smaller cams(duration anyways, like th LPE219) into the low 12's on a 350...maybe evn into the 11's, but I'm not sure.

As far as drivability, the intake is the least of your concerns, I see no comparison to street manners vs. intake..intake is for operating range to make HP and Tq, vs. cam/engine combo.

The SR is what you want then, with aftermarket base.

Are you gonna run stock heads?

I do have a brand new pair of EDELBROCK P/N 6085 heads. I will bring them along with the intake base to have them ported match... I am on a budget, I know it would be a wise choice to get the AFR 195 but with the extra $ I can afford the best intake set up!

Ah! forgot to mentionned that I will be running my current exhaust system wich is SLP 1 3/4 and a SLP single 3```catback without the cat,

Thanks for helping, Pat

That combo is gonna be damn close to mine.

Same cam, I got Edelbrock 60979 heads, Superram upper and SDPC base, but I got a 383, also got longtube headers.

The key is to get it tuned properly and to have pleanty of porting done on every single part of the intake.

She is strong runner, I am real pleased with the combo.

HO! I made a mistake. My best E.T. was 13:17@109mph with Khumo tires and a crapy rear end and the stock tranny (that was upgrated to a B&M stage 3 last year after two previous burnt S**T!).

I know the time is not good but it seems convertible are heavier than coupe. Several iroc with the same mods were faster by 3-4 tenth!

My goal is to reach the low 12's without supercherger or nitro. I already fustrated a few mustang owner that were far much ligter than me.

I know that many of you posted good articles on miniram vs HSR or SR vs SLP & Edelbrock but Since all of us have different mods,we can never be sure of the final result.

Must tell you that I was thinking of the 383 combo... Is torque much better and did you loose high RPM band???

See ya! Pat

There is a ton of TQ down low, a ton! It doesnt lay down up top either, it actually peaks power at 5800rpm.

If you get it put together right with porting and tuning you will hit 12s no problem at all.

Seriously man, the parts you have listed are so damn close to the many established SR combos that if you get it all together with any degree tender lovin care you will come out real good in the end.
