What injectors should I get?
I have a 91 z28 with edelbrock headers, banks exhaust, afpr, gutted air box, and aftermarket filters. The engine is otherwise stock and has ~167,000 miles and I just want to get feedback on what injectors to get. I was looking at the ford DB9 injectors (pink top) from fiveomotorsports or the accel 23# injectors. I have done alot of searching and reading, but am still confused as to which ones I should get. I have read that the ford injectors should flow ~22# but they were rated at a lower pressure, which sounds OK. However, I also read that they are rated at 43.5 psi and will be lean and that they are shorter in length. So I am wondering what people have experienced with these or other ford injectors (flow rate, installation, etc...). Now in the case of the accel injectors I have read that the 23# injectors are good for a stock l98, but their quality is lacking and they go bad quickly. I really could use some help because I don't trust these injectors and don't want them failing on me in the middle of nowhere.
Also, as far as I know cruisinperformance won't clean these injectors (multec?).

Will the SLP ones work with the L98? I noticed that they had a note on there that told what they were compatible with, so I am curious about this.

I have heard about the slp ones and it sounds like a good deal. I did some searching on those and read some posts where people were having problems running them with the stock tune. I know they are rated at a higher pressure but I am just worried that they won't work (some say they are perfect and some say they are rich), unless I change the injector size on the prom.
The ad says that they are rated at 25 lb/hr at 3 bar. 1 bar equals 14.5 psi, so 3 bar would be 43.5 psi which is are stock fuel pressure. I have a feeling that these injectors would flow way too much fuel at the stock settings.

if you never plan on spinning alot of rpm, which is asking alot of a tpi any way ,i would put my money on another mod instead. a tpi engine has a very good BSFC that allows it to make power with less fuel . i had 36 lb s in my 436 92 formula and with an oem ecm and a custom prom the engine was pig rich i installed a set of 24 svo and the a/f cleaned right up. i still have a ton of tuning to do when i can fund a DFI . the car was only running 12.40@113 while smoking at the track . i have yet to run w the 24s but i can tell you the engine is way responsive and no lean conditions. these engines really dont need alot of fuel. just try playing w fuel pressure instead. and dont throw your money away. even if you get free injectors i would keep what you have.

brutalform - thanks for the advice. The only reason I am looking at getting new injectors is that my car has 167000 miles and a couple originals are going bad. I just want good injectors to replace them, with the stock 22 lb/hr flow rating (or as close as possible).

Get the blue ford SVO injectors 24 # I had them On my stock trans am gta with a few free mods. Then over the years I have performed way to many mods to mention now I have a 383 and I still get a good sharp throttle response.
While you are at it get a fuel pressure regulator as well.

I already have a fuel pressure regulator. I thought if I went with the 24# injectors that I would need a custom prom burned to change the injector size or I will run really rich. I know that you can turn the fuel pressure down, but I know lower fuel pressure hurts atomization. I have gutted the air box and am using TPIS air cleaners, edelbrock headers, and banks exhaust right now. I plan on doing heads and cam, as well as porting the stock plenum and getting better intake and runners, but that has to wait until the paint and body is done. Maybe I will invest in some SVO 24# injectors and have a custom chip burned by fastchips, then I will have my bases covered when I upgrade everything else. Thanks for all your help guys, I just bought the car about 2 months ago and am trying to get stuff sorted.
