Small cap, remote coil dissy question.

I recently bought a small cap dissy and coil from ebay.
The seller told me that they came from a '90 GTA.
The coil is mounted on a bracket along with some type of heatsink and an electronic 'module'.. I have circled it in the pic below, does anyone know what this module is??

Unreal, the stuff people advertise on ebay.

The coil assembly you have looks to be from a LT1 engine. I suppose the coil might be okay for your application. The part in question is the ignition module. You will not use that for your vehicle. Also, it looks like whatever car that distributor was in had a painless wiring harness. That would explain the pigtail on the distributor.

That coil is not from a 90 GTA.

S10Wildside is right - that is not from a 90 GTA. On the TPI cars there is another electronic item the coil is mounted to, but it is the EGR solenoid - and that is not a TPI EGR solenoid in your picture. The coil and distributor should be fine to use on a TPI car though.

Have a Great Day!!!

It looks like the coil/module/heatsink assembly on my '94 Caprice with LT1.

Thanks guys.
The harness I bought from www.jimsperformance.com so I could use this dissy in my corvette without hacking up the car's harness...
The coil works fine, but I can't say the same for the dissy.. After a lot of fault finding, I finally determined that the permanent magnets in the reluctor are bad.. Yep, its an Ebay dud.. Its a shame, it costs quite a bit to send these broken parts to the other side of the planet...
Thanks again.
