HSR and distributor cap

Is it just me, or is it a pain in the rear to swap the distributor cap with a Stealth Ram? I managed to get it out by unplugging my wiper motor. It hits the vacuum ports on the back if I do it any other way.

Anyone else have a special trick to taking the cap off or having better vacuum fittings that are more compatible?

You could go with 90 degree fittings on the back and that would probably give a little extra room. I have the same problem with my GTA, you can just barely get the cap out if you turn it sideways and take it out on the driveside between the plenum and the whiper motor. It's just one of those things we'll have to deal with I guess because there really is no way to get around it that I can see.

I am assuming you have a small cap dist? I do and I havent tried to change it cuz its still new. I will go out and look later to see if I think it will be a problem but I dont think so. If I remember right, I had to drop the dist in without the cap on and then add the cap and it wasnt a problem for me. But I am old and my memory is fading.... My guess is that this is probably a formula/gta/tta/firebird issue?

Well, this is on a Camaro.

I put the dist in with the plenum off. And yes, small cap dist.
