Need some help deciding which way to go

Well me and a friend are about to swap a 87 Iroc 350 into his 90 GMC Jimmy. The engine came with everything except the computer. The 87 was orignally a maf setup and my I thought the best way to go about this would be to convert over to Speed density, but maybe now thinking about finding a map ecm would be an easier way to go. The only ECMs on ebay I can find on ebay are S/D, and this costs about 150 bucks worth of parts plus the cost of the ECM to swap in and I can't find a maf ecm any where. So my questions are which way is the best route to go... stay MAF and locate a ECM (any help would be great) or get a ecm off of ebay for a S/D setup?

Thanks
Graham

I'm pretty sure they are all the same except for the PROM, but I'm not sure. I do know I bought a new ECM for about $140 from Autozone for my 89 GTA with MAF. You should be able to get one at any parts store.

You get get a '730 off ebay, and a map sensor, then repin the harness for speed density. Problem is, the prom is gonna have vats enabled. You'll need to turn it off in the chip.

Do I have to get a new connector or does the one from the Maf harness plug up? I have searched but couldnt find anything cut and dry. I read the web page from the tech articles but I know that guy wanted to switch back and forth and I think thats why he had a special connector that he used.

You need an extra connector. I'd just goto the junkyard and remove a '730 and the connectors out of any GM car. Order a prom and a moates adapter, and burn a chip.
