it runs semi fine when its JUST started up. but when it warms up it runs rough at idle. and has an OCCASIANL backfire. and also when it warms up and i go to restart it it fires up, almost dies(sometimes does) and then goes back into its rough idle...

should i do a small tune up because the plugs are pretty black(running rich obviously). but what would make it run rich? could it be timeing? if it was a vacum leak wouldn't it run lean? and i've already cheaked for alla that. i can't find the thing to pull the codes and all our paper clips are chrome plated or w/e and i think thats interfearing with the connection on the ALDL. because i already crossed the two terminals and nothing. the SES light just stayed on.

but i do remember that it was code 33 and 36? was it. i think 36, that i pulled. both have to do with the MAF. but nothing happens when i unplug it(the MAF) and start the engine. it still runs the same.



by the way, warmed up, i mean the rad. hoses are hot. i have the light in the truck hooked to the swtich for the fan, which is actually rigged up and the switch isn't beein used(i have it so i touch the wire for the reley to the + batter temerinal to turnt he fan on right now), and that isn't turning the light one even. and that turns grounds at a lower tempature then the regular sending unit for the light. 180 i think it grounds...

 

Since this isn't regarding a 3rd gen F-body it will get locked soon.
