tpi swapping across year models
Hello Everybody!
My situation is I am installing a 1989 305 TPI injected motor into a 1988 Chevy truck(700R4 2 wheel drive C-1500)
and using the wiring harness from a 1988 Camaro Z28.
I have both computers; the Z28's and the T/A's.
My concerns are the '88 Camaro(wiring harness) has the extra idle fuel injector and the T/A motor does not.
Anyone know if by using the T/A computer and just leaving the wires isolated that go to the idle fuel injector all will be well as far as the computer goes. Are there additional wires to deal with? open? short? bypass? remove? ground?
I must say the articles at this website are far more important and informative than all the books I have purchased, begged and/or borrowed! You guys are the greatest!

The extra wires are for the cold start injector. Nothing to do with idle.
Just leave them off, they aren't even connected to the ECM. Make sure you use a bin from the newer version, it uses the computer to enrich things for startup, instead of the CSI.
This and the throttle body question you posted would be more appropriate in the TPI forum though. You may want to ask a moderator to move it for you, or repost over there.
