Hard cold start

I have a 86 TA with a 350 TPI

I have changed most of the sensors when I had the motor rebuilt.

The fuel pressure does drop off when the car sits overnight but even if I turn the key to acc and let the pump charge up the lines it still takes 6+ tries to get it to kick. It does hold pressure for several hours though .

I have set the base timing and there is no SES light on.

I think this problem may have held over from the old 305 because some times (most of the time it was a real hard cold start).

And by cold start I mean first start in the morning it could be a 100 deg outside with the same problem.

Thanks

It could be the chip, I know the ARAP chip starts a little hard. Or you might consider the "Cold Start injector" could be bad.

What is your base timing set at with ECM unplugged? Just curious, timing set incorrectly will cause a hard start.

I set the base timing to 10 deg. this seemed to make the car run the best with crisper throttle responce.

I removed the cold start injector because i thought it was the cause of my fuel pressure leak. But it turned out not to be.

Thanks again
