New times with the TPI LO5

Here's a quick background. I recently did my TBI-TPI swap on my 4100lb '95 Chevy Reg. Cab pickup. I have Hooker Supercomps with dual Flows and a K&N Extra F---in' hot air intake (you know, good ol RC-5000 hangin' off the TB). Well before the TPI my best was a very VERY dissappointing 17.1 @ 78mph (10.88 1/8th at 62) at G-ville with no P.seat, center console and my tailgate and 10" sub removed but with my heavy 18" Boyds on there with 255/55-18 Toyo Proxes S/T's (420 tread wear). It was about 80-85 degrees that day last november.

I was expecting a bit of a gain with the TPI but I was very pleasently suprised. I went to the F-body shootout in Reynolds this weekend and managed a 16.2 @ 82 (10.26 1/8th @ 65) with a 2.265 60' (bad wheel hop... my rear shocks are GONE!) My timing was only set at 2 deg. BTDC (what i set it at before i came to tallahassee last time and i forgot to bring the Timing light with me so i could bump it back up) and my fuel pressure is set by ESP because i forgot my gauge too. ALso this was with full weight with the sub bumpin to "Pick-up Man" by Joe Diffie the whole way down .

TPI IS FREAKIN' AWESOME!!! Can't wait to get some mods on it and go for it again. Oh yeah, and i never got a new knock sensor when I did the swap so I that thing is HYPER active and pulls 7-10 degress of timing constanly. I am going back to Gainesville this November with my home-depot intake, new knock sensor, new shocks, ported plenum and more timing and more AFPR tuning (unless i get my chip burning stuff by then, then I'll have a real tune.) I might just get Ol' Blue into the 15's on stock TBI heads, Cam, and tune after all. Any other Free (or extra cheap) mod ideas? Oh yeah, might be able to get some elec. fans by then too.

I would swap out the heads/cam cuz on a L05, they are pretty damn horrible.
