ZZ9 vs GM hotcam
whats up guys? I ordered the Scoggin-Dickey Vortec TPI motor and was wondering if I should keep the GM hotcam thats in it or go with the TPIS ZZ9 cam? The ZZ9 is a 212/226 vs the GM 218/228.

Well right off the bat the hotcam is a bigger cam. It has a bigger duration. What is the lift of the zz9? I know the hotcam is .525/.525. And if the zz9 is smaller than that, than why change to a smaller cam?? Keep the hotcam if all the numbers are smaller.

ZZ9 specs
advertised duration: 282 intake/287 exhaust
duration at .050: 212 intake/226 exhaust
gross lift: .483 intake/.520 exhaust
lobe separation: 112
Those that SD motor come with 1.6 roller rockers? A little more lift never hurts.
