How hard is it to change an injector, #1?

I think the injector on my number 1 cylinder is clogged or bad. The car is missing on that cylinder and I've confirmed spark and compression. When we unplug that injector while running it doesn't really make a difference in how the car runs.

Is there any "how to" pertaining to removing and replacing the injector?

Thanks.

its easy. just remove the plenum and runners (along with the other crap plugged into/connected to the plenum). Then the rail will pull out of the baseplate. I have never actually seen a TPI actually on a car so I don't know if the lines are flexible, but i have all hard lines so i have to disconnect the rail from the fuel lines to pick the rail up. But once you have it up, then you just rotate the little clip on the injector and it will come right out. When you put the new one in just put a little oil on the o-rings and reverse the procedure. Should take no time at all.

Try to just gently tap at the injector with a screwdriver or something. Not to hard, but tap it. Sometimes the injectors will stick, more so the Multechs, but this happened to my SVO's... gave it a good little rap with a screwdriver, and it's been fine for years... Worth as shot before spending money and tearing it down

I'm not sure if someone mentioned it, but the fuel rail has a lock for the injectors. You will have to spin it about 90* or so to unlock the injector from the rail. A flat head, or pliers to push on the little tab works just fine.

Unless you don't have them, in which case they should come right now.

For about $9 you can get an O-ring kit from any parts store.

Don't have to remove the runners, just the plenum. It's much easier to just unbolt one side of the fuel rail from the tubes that run across and remove it in two pieces

That sounds a lot better to me.
