Hotcam, is it hot or not...A better Idea???

I am building a 4 bolt 350 engine for the street, smog legal with SCAT crank, powder rods, Sealed Pro pistons and rings, custom balancing and machining, custom ported Vortec heads, ported Scoggins and Dickey intake, hogged out siamesed runners and plenium, 52 mm throttle body, #24 injectors, 1.5 and 1.6 rockers and cam.

I have a Hotcam and was thinking the other day about how cool it will sound and how cool the 385+ hp will be.

I really don't want to be limited by the Hotcam and the chip mods that will make it work. I would like to maximize that part.

Does anyone know of any other cam, Compcams, Crane, Lingenfelter, ASM or other that will give me better performance without the chip problems and maybe give me more HP and torque?

Please Help.

Jim

You won't get crap out of anything without the time and effort of tuning, which includes the 'chip problems'.

What the devil said.

To get the most out of anything that will make a respectable amount of power (hot cam/vortec head comparable) you will have to get into prom burning. heck, to get the most out of anything either way, prom burning is needed.

-385hp? The hotcam will not achieve this in a long tube TPI motor. It sounds great at idle but it is really suited for the LT-1 motor with it's super short runners. The lingenfelter 219/219 cam mat be a better choice for you. Do some searches and you will find TONS of info.-Mike
