anyone bought this? will it work?
i have an 87 trans am GTA 5.7 TPI i want to run NOS to keep up with my friends i all ready beat my friend with a 95 mustang GT, but my two closest friends have much tougher car one has a 94 trans am with a LT1 and ever bolt-on/mod you can get plus a nice built trans, stall, and gears. he beats me pretty good but i think i'll be fine with the custom ram air setup i just made and the headers i'm putting on but my other friend there is no way i could catch him with out serious rebuild or NOS he has a 89 RS camaro engine trans rearend gutted out and a supercharged 383 stroker with a 350 turbo-trans and 4.10 gears i think it is 4.10 gears
anyway i want to run NOS but i am not sure about going about it like i said i have a custom ram air setup but space it tight i have a MAF so i made a boot that connect the MAF to the TPI unit and my K&N filter connects to that i had to modify both the filter and the MAF just to make it fit behind the radiator (oh yeah stock TA hood with vents opened up more) so i have LESS than an inch before i an hitting the radiator already so a NOS plate behind the throdle body would cause a clearence problem so i found this in jegs
http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...10&prmenbr=361
but it says for LT1 not i know alot of things for the TPI fit the LT1 and vice-versa now will this fit my 87 TPI or is this just a pipe dream? i do not want to have to redo my whole ram air intake just because i want NOS what is the difference in the LT1 and the TPI throdlebodies?
thanks
matt

I dont know if this helps at all but ive seen a Nos setup where a jet gets installed in the air duct before the throttle body and after the MAS. Thats a dry system and then theres a wet system where the jets are installed in the runners just before the injectors, ive seen this in a TPI swappers guide. I might be wrong, or off about the Wet system installation, but the dry system looks cheaper and easier to install. Im sure someone will correct me if im wrong.

well what would i have to get in the way of jets and things i don't know much about NOS except that above all else i have to have enough fuel so i don't burn up my engine witch is why i also want a safety switch that works off the fuel pressure but what would be the best idea for running NOS in the airduct? and that has to be after the MAFS? like i said i don't know much about NOS it is new to me i have just done work with exaust and intake
thanks

. But then again if that happened then maybe you could build your own 383 or a 406 to spank your friends RS
