Transmission: T-5 manual 5-speed
EGR system help!

recently bought a 88 camaro 350 tpi engine and the previous owner took the EGR system off ever since the car hasnt ran correctly. does anyone know the parts needed or have a good schematic of the system so i can replace it? or does the EGR system not have an effect on the driveability of the car .??? please help thanks

the system does need an egr unless it was done properly including a custom burnt cpu memical, it probably is having hard starting problems, lowerd fuel efficency, there arent that many vaccum lines what year/engine do you have

so your saying that it DOES need it? because mine has no egr syastem and i have no idea what i would need to replace it with all the hoses and equiptment? its a 1988 tpi 350 and i dont think he had a new PROM burned for it. this sucks do you know anywhere i could find some sort of schematic for the egr system?

hey thanks for that information but my problem isnt in the egr system , its the lack of the whole system but in order to get the things i need to put a new one on i have to know what i need and im not sure of the hoses solonoids wires i need ? so far no luck with finding a diagram. wish they had egr diagrams like they do for wiring and vacum

You'll have to search the pages, but it has everyting you need know, wiring, and vacuum diagram, pictures of sensor...etc.

My Camaro is also an 88' IROC, but highly modifed, if there's anyting I can help you with, just ask

hey thanks that was very helpfull i also did some research on this website under tech articles and i email the author of one of the articles. also i got that F-body cd and found all the diagrams i needed. but thanks. hey also you said yours was highly modified. what do you have for and intake setup? LT1,stealth ram,miniram,ported plenum and large runners? what would you suggest?
