New track times w/ 355...
still marred w/ that STOCK tpi and STOCK exhaust manifolds, but all in all a good day. stock converter also...on street tires.
1st pass... flashing converter...

I am pretty happy w/ that. I didn't expect more than around a 13.6 from the car w/ the stock TPI and exhaust, running on the streets and stock converter... mods are in the sig... Cam is way out of its peak powerband w/ the TPI... guess its time for some headers and converter and see if this thing will go high 12s consistantly w/ the stock TPI... don't sleep on it!!!

The car is overcammed b/c I was gonna go w/ the LT1 intake, but didn't. Saving for a miniram right now though.
The setup as it is, w/ stock TPI intake on it, will prolly see 12s w/ the addition of headers, probably SLP or Hooker 2210s, and a good converter. Maybe just the converter will go 12s, but add headers and its consistant I think.
I will probably go w/ a 3500 stall... b/c that is what I will need w/ the miniram...

I would love to see what your car would run with a converter, headers, and probably some suspension work. Your really overcammed for a stock tpi setup though. I would have expected it to run a tad slower than that. Just wait till you get the Miniram though, then you'll really notice your cam up top!

I am thinking I wanna see where this will go w/ the TPI before actually throwing on a Miniram.
Headers, converter, and DRs and we will see what it does!!!
Hoping for 12s on STOCK TPI!!!

no port work on the TPI. Meaning stock as cast base, runners and pleneum...

Don't be so surprised!! It is a good ET but I remember a chevy high performance magazine (1998) I think... They were running a best ET of n12.26 with stock TPI!!! It was a 87 Iroc with a ZZ4 cam, reworked 700R4, Slick, 3:42, 7.5 10 bolts, custom Prom, 52 mm TB, 24 Lbs injectors, 3``Random tech catback, suspension mods and the list goes on but no major modification as for the intake setup was stock but possibly ported.
A stock TPI could run in high 12's or low 13's for sure. Well, most of you knew that already

You know what, I see so many absurdly surprising results from magazines, that I no longer believe anything I read in a car magazine anymore. That combination will not run a low 12. There are way too many people with that or another similar combo struggling to pull a low 13. If you were to tell me that they ran a 13.26 with that combination, I would be skeptical at first.

I know I know... I am well aware of that too! But, I ran 13.17@109mp with a ZZ4 cam,SLP runners,52mm TB,ported plenum,Edelbrock base, 3:73, stock converter, 255 Khumo, 1.75 SLP headers, 3``SLP catback without cat,Fast chip,Edelbrock heads, Aluminum drive shaft, B&M shift kit, and Proform roller rockers...

Oh! Sorry, they were running a ZZ9 camshaft wich is far different from the ZZ4. And AFR heads ported.
We can't take everything for cash in these magazines but we know that they won't reveal all their combo/tricks and they are sponsered by the companys they listed. So with this in mind, we can do our own judgment.

Sorry if I seem negative. I just can't see any other way about it.
