Re: stock run time ??
wow, it couldnt run any time there is no SPECIFIC qmile time for what motor unless ist competly stock but a mild bolt on 305 could run the same as a stock 350. but if were talking about a competly stock, original motor, with original tranny in place, then its a 305. no 350's in thirdgens were made with t5's stock.

Re: stock run time ??
it is completely stock i believe!
and i think its a 305 motor for sure i was told to check behind the block to see if at the center top of block there would be a hole drilled and that would most likely mean its a 350 and were the hole was posed to be wasnt drilled it was smooth i dont know how true it is but i got a 350 motor and that hole was drilled on the 350 block ...
please tell me some stock times if you could and also what it would run with a few bolt on parts such as a cam and heads?
times dont got to be 100% accurate but i just want a good guess...
also how much power can a t5 trans mission hold??? i was wanting to get around 400horse power if that trans would hold up would anyone have anysort of guess?? and being raced sometimes but not alot.
thanks..
"trying to learn what i can get away with and wat i could do im new to these cars but i do know how to work on them somewhat thank you for teaching me things i dont know"
any information will be appreciated!!

Welcome to the boards!one of the easiest ways to tell would be to pull the valve covers. If the casting number ends in 081 then you can bet its a 305.Cant see any reason to use 305 heads on a 355.
If you want to go by times you need to run it at the track and tell us what it runs. Then you have to factor in skill.that can make a huge difference especially on a manual trans.Only 305 got the manual trans.
Everything being ideal you should see a high 13 to a low to mid 14 out of a 350.Remember i said everything being ideal.good launch, tune etc.305 should be in the 15 sec range iirc.Search the boards.tons of info!oh,and have fun.

Re: stock run time ??
About how much power the t 5 will hold is debatable among some people with larger engines running them but from what Ive heard the overall opinion is they will not last long behind a healthy 350.

Re: stock run time ??
You can tell what motor you have by reading the numbers on the block right next to the water pump. if standing in front of the car it should be on the left side of where the water pump mounts, there should be a flat piece of the block and the numbers will be engraved so most likely you wont see them due to all the grime that has probably built up there. Simple green will take it off like nothin than do a google search for small block chevy engine codes and youll find out what ya got.
